ChiPride Volunteering + One Tail at a Time
When: Saturday, July 11th, 2026
Time: 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Location: 2144 N Wood St, Chicago, IL 60614

Total Spots Available: 10

Description: Join LGBTQ+ and Ally Volunteers as we partner with One Tail at a Time! We’ll be working at their Bucktown Adoption Center, helping with packing and cleaning as they prepare to move out of this facility, or with their Pet Mutual Aid program, packing and organizing supplies for their weekly pet pantries. At the end of the project, we will spend time socializing with their adoptable dogs!

Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. We also recommend long pants, since sometimes the dogs can be jumpy.

Parking/Transportation: There is free street parking along Wood St. and some of the nearby side streets. The parking lot next to the building belongs to WhirlyBall – you can use the spots along the train tracks, but not any of the other spots there.

One Tail at a Time Mission: End pet homelessness by making pet ownership a joyful and accessible experience for all. We accomplish this by rescuing animals from overcrowded shelters, placing them in loving forever homes, and providing support and resources to pet owners in need.

ChiPride Volunteering Mission: Chipride Volunteering connects Chicago’s diverse LGBTQ+ community and allies through unified volunteerism.

We strive to create a more inclusive city by centralizing opportunities that support a variety of nonprofits, fostering connection and driving positive change at a local level.
